Tomato Powder - 1/2 Pound ( 8 Ounces ) - Pure Ground Dried Dehydrated Tomato Vegetables by Denver Spice

I use this product to make my own version of Hamburger Help-me Lord I've got to buy 3 boxes of this stuff to feed my hungry family. The name brand stuff has me spending almost $6 just for the mixes. Add a couple of pounds of lean ground beef, salad, and some rolls...you're looking at almost $16 for a H.H. type meal. Whuuut?! This product enables me to mix up my own, healthier version of H.H. You get the tomato flavor without adding all the liquid that's in a tomato. Add it to chili to turn up the flavor!

Don't expect this to taste like tomato sauce/paste. Since it is ground tomatoes it has none of the added sugar or salt, so the taste is a bit sharper. As a single person cooking small amounts, using ingredients like powdered tomatoes saves me a lot of waste. No more throwing away half a can of tomato sauce...With an added bonus of being better for me.

I have severe food allergies and bought this product because it said that it was made with "optimal food safety." I read through the description backwards and forwards and nowhere did it say anything about potential contamination. I bought this product and on the package it says it is manufactured around nuts, soy, and dairy. Considering how dangerous allergies are, especially nut allergies, this should have been labeled somewhere else but on the package that I received. I am especially upset because I cannot return this product. I feel deceived. If I would have known it was manufactured around allergens I would not have bought it, but on top of that I cannot return it? This is false advertising on every level and I think they should be ashamed of themselves. I was not even able to use the product because of this and am now stuck with half a pound of unusable tomato powder.

This is all stuck together in one big lump, like a big block of old brown sugar.

Works well when tomato paste flavor is wanted, I like not having to have a bunch of tomato paste around. Not a substitute for fresh tomato flavor.

This is the second time I have ordered and this time I ordered two packages. I take it out of the plastic packaging and put it in a mason jar. It is so handy to have this when you just need a little extra tomato sauce. Just add water. Flavor is great.

Love this product. Hydrate and uses this in place of tomato paste which I am ALWAYS running out of. Nice to have this on hand with my spices. I will purchase this again. Thanks .

Wonderful product. It has an amazing fresh tomato smell, and it gave the extra punch of flavor I was looking for in my dry rub.
