Great product for lazy people like me
This product is one of the best oil based pomades I’ve used. Out of the tin it has a harder than most texture and isn’t very pliable - it reminds me a lot of 360 waving pomade or other petroleum based Afro-hair products in that way, but after you work it through hair it melts right in and distributes easily. What I love about it is that once in the hair, it doesn’t create any sort of cast and your hair stays in place yet touchable and combable all day.But why is this great for lazy people? Because with this pomade, I can not wash my hair for 2-3 days and the product stays like new with just a couple spritzes of water.I also enjoy that I can use it for a zero volume slicked back look, but it’s still light enough that I can use it with a round brush for a pompadour and it works well for that too.For people who care about packaging and scent - this product excels there too. The packaging feels nice and the graphics are ~aesthetic~ and fun. The scent is fairly strong, yet neutral and fits with everything else.My only downside for this product, and this goes for all oil based pomades, is that this product is very hard to wash out, and you need to use a clarifying shampoo to remove it. That said, I find if I co-wash my hair but don’t comb it it creates really nice curls the day it air dries which is a neat added benefit.Overall, I really like this hair product and highly recommend it.

Best Oil Pomade on the Market.
I have used Goon Grease for about 8 years now and I keep coming back to it. It has the best hold while still being pliable and having a nice shine. I have very thick hair and use it to slick my hair back and it works through my hair very easily. It holds up fantastic in all weather. The weather is extremely hot and humid where I am right now and I tried a water based competitor and my hair was falling down constantly. Goon Grease holds up. The only negative which I hesitate to call a negative is that it does not wash out with the first rinse. It’s oil based and that should be expected. I have used other oil based competitors that you can feel the build up. Goon Grease doesn’t feel gunky when it doesn’t all wash out. I’m glad Lockhart continues to produce the same quality product!

Smells amazing
I recently tried Lockhart's Men's Styling Gel, and I wanted to share my honest thoughts with you. found Lockhart's Men's Styling Gel to be a decent product. On the positive side, the gel does provide a decent hold for styling. It helps tame my hair and keep it in place throughout the day, which is definitely a plus. The product also has a pleasant scent that lingers subtly. But isn’t overwhelming. However, I found that the gel can feel quite heavy and sticky on the hair. It tends to weigh down my hair and leaves a slightly greasy residue, which is not the most desirable effect.Overall this is a quality styling gel that smells great and does the job!

Great hold, easy to apply
I'm very satisfied with this pomade. For reference I have fine, straight hair. Here are my impressions in no particular order.- Hold: If you apply enough, your hair will stay where you put it. I have a pretty difficult cowlick and this stuff tames it no problem.- Application: you're going to need to rub this between your hands to melt it enough to get it in your hair. That's the case with any heavyweight grease. However, it goes in much easier than Dax Wave & Groom (red Dax), the other heavyweight I like. It also doesn't make the comb drag nearly as much as red Dax.- Styling: As I mentioned previously, it doesn't drag the comb as much as other heavy pomades. I also typically need to wait a little while after applying before I can get my hair how I like it but that's just a thing that heavy pomades do. On subsequent days it's easy to style.- Washing out: you're either going to need to wash it out over a few days or use something like Joe's Hand Cleaner or a removing shampoo. Duh, it's a petrolatum/paraffin pomade. If you want something that washes out easily then get a water-based product.- Shine: I'd say this is a medium shine, on par with Dax High & Tight Awesome Hold. I know this is advertised as "high shine" but it won't make your hair glossy like Royal Crown hair dressing will.- Scent: VERY lemon-y. Smells like Lemon Pledge, or maybe Lemonheads. The smell doesn't really hang around though (that I've noticed) so you won't be running around smelling like furniture polish.- Buildup: this stuff stays in my hair overnight for the most part. I can wake up in the morning, touch up some places around the edges where some rubbed off on my pillow, and comb my hair in a couple minutes. All in all I'm very happy with this stuff and I will buy more.
