Dear seller, and dear readers, does the push-down piece use the same size rubber-plug as the original?
what are the size of this item when collapsed together, and how long would one of these last if I was using it daily...once a day?
Will it make 16oz of coffee all at once or do you have to make multiple cups to get 16oz?

Aeropress: The American French Press!

It's been three years since I bought this Aeropress, almost to the day. Happy Anniversary, beautiful! I love you and I can't imagine my life without you 😅 Sorry, I drifted there for a second 😂Before Aeropress, I used a French press. It was part of my morning rituals: grind the beans, boil the water, pour and let it steep, press, and voilà, you got coffee. I enjoyed that. What I didn't enjoy, though, was the sediment and the cleanup! Enter, Aeropress 🤩Pros 👍👍👍- Compact and portable.- Consistently good coffee, every time (once you've dialed it in to your preferences).- Easy to use. Personally, I use the inverted method.- Easy to clean. You end up with a neat little puck. Toss, rinse and repeat!- Economical: minimum waste in paper, coffee, time, and energy!- Lasts for ever! See photos of mine, three years later, of almost daily use.- S, M and XL: Aeropress now comes in your choice of small (Go), medium (Original), and even XL!Cons 👎👎👎- Honestly, not much to complain about. This invention is near perfect!- OK, the paper filter holder is just too small to be useful!- Also, I wish the Aeropress logo was embossed and not just printed, but this is nitpick territory! My Verdict 🧐My first reaction to using my Aeropress was that this is the best thing that’s happened to coffee since 1852 (the year the first French Press was patented). I love mine, and I'm sure you will fall in love with yours. Trust me, you need this in your life! One more thing: If I have to buy it again, I would certainly go with the Original Aeropress. I honestly think it's just as compact and travel-friendly. Besides, I don't care for any of the other accessories, like the cup or the foldable stirrer!I hope my review has helped you make a more informed buying decision 👍😊✌️

Great for travel!

I am a truck driver, and I got tired of truck stop/travel center coffee that can be hit-or-miss, even at the national chains. In fact, I was tired of having to go to a travel center to get coffee, period. I wanted a way to make coffee on my truck. I looked for something that would not need a lot of space to store, not fussy to use, easy to clean, and still make good coffee.I have used this Aeropress for a month now, and this ticks all the boxes! I even love the storage for extra filters on the bottom of the cup!Minimum storage footprint is a huge deal in a confined space. This Aeropress and a one pound bag of coffee fit in a small tote bag measuring approximately 10x10x4 inches, with room to spare for small items.I have never used a French press, but I have read it takes a while. With this Areopress, it takes longer to boil the water than to make the coffee! The coffee taste great; no bitterness at all!Cleaning is as simple as dump the grounds and filter, rinse, dry, put away. I do make sure I wipe the plunger to clean the grounds residue.I like this so much I use it at home! Having said that, my only complaint is when I want a huge mug of coffee, I still need to use my regular coffee maker.....or I can make two Aeropress cups of coffee. For really good coffee, I'll make the two cups 😊 I will be getting a larger Aeropress for home use.

One of the best ways to make coffee.

First off, buy the Aeropress branded “no-leak” cap and metal filter. I’ve tried others due to reviews of the Aeropress branded, turns out Aeropress’ versions work best for me personally and are far less complicated. The difference in paper filter vs metal filter is negligible at best, preferentially some will stick with paper. The no leak cap is a necessity.Bought this for long-haul camping after using my home pour over on a trip. That setup works perfectly at home but pales in comparison to this press, the Go+ is smoother, silkier, less mess, more compact, quick etc. I have yet to take this on a trip and no doubt this will be a long lasting piece of gear. The tumbler keeps coffee hot for about an hour, warm for another two, then starts cooling down (shouldn’t take that long to drink a cuppa though). I also love that even at brew level 4 there’s room for cream if desiredSome folks have issues with the accessories and/or what comes in the tumbler, following instructions to a T as written, there have been zero problems. The thing isn’t pricey (it is with accessories) but absolutely worth the dough given shoddy alternatives. I’m hoping this lasts a very long time.

You should buy this right now, don't hesitate.

If you are like me and have been sitting on the fence forever, then sit on the fence no longer. If you are worried that there is a new/better version, just don't worry about that. This version works great. So why 4 stars? Maybe it should be 5 stars, but it doesn't really do anything that blows my mind, etc. It makes good coffee very easily and quickly. However, you have to learn to use it. It is simple to make coffee, not as simple to make great coffee. Watch James Hoffman's AeroPress videos. What I have learned is that (with the coffee I have), I can't use more than 10 grams or the coffee tastes muddy. YMMV. Don't get fancy, don't invert. Just follow the directions. Grind course, grind fine, taste the difference. Try less, try more and just see how it tastes. I bought a fancy 1zpresso hand grinder to go with it so I could control my grind. The difference in taste between grinds fine and course (relative to recommended) is pretty significant. You need to experiment. Press slow & take your time. I was using way too much coffee and pressing way too hard. The coffee was terrible. Once you zero in on what you like, you will love it. It is super easy to clean. It is far easier to clean than any other brewing method I have tired. That makes it absolutely awesome for camping! Does it make espresso? No, not by my taste, but it makes a fine reasonably full cup of tasty coffee once you get the details down. Enjoy!
