One of the 16 Globes arrived broken...the four boxes were put in a box with twice the room of the Globes with no other cushion or bubbles. I have and still own Watering Globes large and small that I purchased way back when they were really advertised on T.V. In that time I have broke one from smashing it into the dirt. (you should poke a stick or such in first before shoving the globe into the pot) The smaller ones are easier to fill but don't seem to hold enough water, so I just use the large ones. I keep a toothpick handy for the large ones when they seem to fill up the stem with a dirt clod. The large ones are slow to fill but the plants think they are worth it, especially when I'm out for a while and not around to water them.

Good question
They r hard to figure out. I have used an thought they were working then plants droop, need water and balls full-1/2full. Then leaves turning yellow, over watered. Then appear to work. I really don't know. If others know what's going on appreciate advise.

A must for houseplants and pretty too! !!!!
Tried these on a lark as my husband installed a garden window and I was having trouble reaching the plants on the top shelf. I ordered enough to water all of my houseplants and I am gobsmacked as to how well my plant are doing! Amazing change in less than 2 months of use. I add a couple of drops of dilute Miracle Grow plant food to the bulb and it seems to be helping along with watering by the roots. I LOVE Christmas cactus and have several. One of my oder plants bloomed so fully last week that the plant was weighed down with blooms - amazing! I think that the Christmas cactus like the garden window, however I think that the water globes are also to credit. Get these - they work and are so colorful!!!!

Not as described.
These are not 12" in length as the picture shows. They are only about 5". They will be fine for small plants but most likely too small for larger plants.

Smaller than I expected and very difficult to get into plant.

Life with plants and watering gone down to only watering once a week!
These have made living with my plants so much easier. No over watering, just have to make sure the glass bulbs keep water in them about every week (I keep about 2 - 3 in my big plants). The over watering with nasty Nats has disappeared and I love the look when the sun shines through the balls.
