Good basic piano music theory poster

I got this poster, as well as another one from the same vendor, but with a focus on the circle of fifths. These posters have been really valuable for me in learning to transpose, learn to create and recognize scales and chords, practice the most popular western chord progressions, and so much more.I can easily glance over at the poster, and find out what is the ii chord in the key of F# (G#m) and practice its root form, for example. Or I could do a quick drive by session, do a ii-V-I jazz progression and a quick improv over that as well.I would recommend these posters to any budding pianists such as myself, to have in a highly visible place while in the “woodshed”. While it doesn’t have more in-depth theory to cover more complex musical concepts or even rhythm, the info it provides is foundational, and will always require reminding here and there. Having these posters help, so I don’t get distracted during practice with picking up my phone, tablet or computer to Google answers to questions like: how do I build a dominant 7th chord? What are some progressions to start with? How do scales relate to each other, etc.Get it, post it on a wall, look at it frequently, learn with it.

Good over all reference for music theory on the piano.

I really like this chart, it is detailed and put together well. I am disappointed that the shipper carrier crushed the package and it has creases every 4 inches or so on one side. But I am using it as a reference and not art work. It may not be perfect for beginners, but rather intermediate to advanced players. There is a lot to remember in music and it is nice to have a chart to look at when working with chord progressions or key signatures.

Great learning tool.

Well made and easy to read. Will go nicely above our piano keyboard to help my children learn how to play the chords.

Hard to read from far away, crowded with things that aren't as useful

I'm nearsighted but I wear glasses. I have this 3.5 feet from my piano and I still struggle to read the info I need. I get that it's a poster with a lot of stuff on it, so you can't expect it to all be very visible. But my complaint is that the stuff that isn't important is HUGE, leaving little real estate for the stuff that's actually useful for a reference. For example, there are two big sections on the right just showing the bass, middle c and treble's regions on a piano. Who needs that? Second, there's a big keyboard and staff depiction of a C Major scale and a C minor harmonic scale for some reason. Again, that's interesting for someone on their first day of playing the piano EVER, but why does it get such a huge section? They could have filled that section with SO many other things. The modes, different scales (blues, lydian, etc), or even just used that space to make the chord section bigger and easier to read.
