One of my biggest pet peeves when shopping for travel case was a lack of any decent reviews. For my fellow road cyclists, here you go: I bought this case for air travel back around May. It has been on five flights. My road bike is a Trek 5200 road bike Overall, not bad. The case itself will protect your bike during travel thanks to all of the straps and the wheel mounts. My bike has sustained minor damage from one of the flights but it had nothing to do with the case, it was due to some TSA moron. The TSA has inspected the case every single trip and always leave something out of place. The bike was damaged when one of the straps wasn't re-buckled. The case is a little awkward to travel with because when packed, the weight is not center on the rollers. It will fall over if you do not lean it against another piece of luggage or a wall. But the rollers do work well and don't give any resistance when walking with it.As you can see in the photos, you will need some tools to pack and reassemble your bike at your destination. In order to get the bike into the case, I had to remove my speedplay pedals from the crank shaft, handlebars have to be removed, and the seat has to be dropped. My seat stem has a ruler imprinted on the carbon fiber stem, I recommend taking a photo before dropping the stem into the frame. It will help you when setting it back into position at your destination.When packed right, I am able to get my shoes, gloves, helmet, my nice pump (had to remove base), tools, and my jersey/shorts, etc. The only thing I did not put in the case was my Garmin cyclometer. I just don't trust the TSA to handle anything with care. I highly recommend taking a full tool kit. There is a pouch on the divider that separates the wheels from the frame. inside that I am able carry a full length pedal wrench, allen key set, and several other essentials. The total weight with everything packed has been about 45 lbs. Just under the over weight. I have not yet been charges any oversize luggage fees. Just know that your case will not come down the baggage claim carousel, it has always gone to either the lost baggage office (Tucson, AZ) or the oversize baggage carousel (BWI).

I bought this case for a move from the US to Germany and it is awesome!!! It has several straps to hold your bike and wheels securely in place. The case is very high quality and protects your bike really well. It rolls easily through the airport and is very stable. I do wish the rear wheels also rotated 360°. It was a little awkward to turn around. One other thing that could be improved is the side the frame goes on could be padded more. I bought some 1inch thick high density foam chair pads from Joann's fabric to line the case which worked really well. I was able to fit a second set of tires and my helmet in the case. The included wheel bags are also great. I did wrap parts of the rear triangle and my rear derailleur in foam and zip tied it and my seat to the frame. I also taped a piece of paper with my address on it to the inside of the case along with a note to TSA and customs to rebuckle the straps and zip up all the zippers. My bike arrived safe and sound and I know this case will last for several years to come.

I bought both this case and the competition (from Thule) and tested both for packing my higher-end, carbon fiber bike, in advance of flying with my bike for the first time ever. I’m very pleased. It was easy to roll through the airports.Vs. the Thule (which I sent back) this case was more intuitive on “what should go where,” with more straps to secure the bike parts and a mid-case divider and a zip-up pocket (use for little parts, tools, etc). that helps keep it all organized, plus separate interior cases for both wheels which helps keep them from rubbing against the frame. I was able to use my helmet and my camelback as additional padding to secure the bike.It zips closed like a common suitcase, vs the Thule’s unintuitive strap system, which could be a challenge for an inexperienced TSA officer (and for me!).Additionally, I wrapped most of my bike pieces in bubble wrap and everything traveled without damage.As many other reviews note: the US TSA seems compelled to open every bike case. So having the bike and components securely strapped in as this system allows makes it unlikely that a part will fall out. When I checked in at a small US airport where TSA is located in the public lobby, I politely told the officer which side was up to try and make his job easier. Of course he ignored me and opened it upside down. But even so it all held together and he was able to inspect, swab, and zip it back up without a problem. I reflected on how this might have gone down with the Thule case and absolutely cringed.The thickness/sturdiness of the case material seems slightly less than the Thule, but still sturdy and secure enough to make me feel confident. After four flights—including changing planes and terminals at DFW (one of America’s busiest airports) I am exceptionally pleased with everything about this case, and look forward to traveling with my bike more often!

I bought this box before flying for a race and was very happy about it. Previously, I have been packing my bike in cardboard boxes and shipping them. That usually ends up being incredibly burdensome. For this race, I took my bike to the airport via public transportation, which could have been a nightmare, but not so much with this box! I had no problem walking a mile to the train station, dealing with a couple train and bus transfers, and getting it on the plane.I used a bunch of bubble wrap when packing, but was nonetheless happy to see everything stayed in place and nothing was broken after each flight.I definitely feel more confident in traveling with my bike, and I look forward to getting more use from this box!
