A Smashing Start to Baking!
This sourdough starter kit is an absolute corker for budding bakers! The two glass jars aren’t deep like a miner’s well, but they’re perfect for housing your starter—shallow enough for easy scooping and crystal-clear to watch those bubbles fizz like a good pint. The silicone spatula is a proper hero, gliding through dough slicker than a London cabbie’s banter, making mixing and scraping dead simple. The included recipe guide is spot-on, helping me bake a crusty loaf that had my mates gobsmacked. Compact, sturdy, and no nonsense. Grab this kit now and jump into sourdough—your kitchen’ll be dishing out bakery-worthy bread before you can say “knead”!

Great jars for sourdough!
Great set of jars and really handy for sourdough. The spatula is perfect as it fits perfectly in the jars but I really with is was a little bit firmer and so could scrape the last bits out of the jar better.Overall though, food value, easy to clean and looks great.

Kilner...say no more! Lovely idea for Sourdough Starter
I purchased 3 sets, 2 as gifts. Note, that I bought them all at the same time....because every time I buy a Kilner jar it's just as it says on the listing and is of a high, sturdy quality. So I didn't buy one set to check it first, and I am glad to give high quality as a great gift. Can't wait to start the sourdough in it's dedcated jar - such a great idea to have a lid that also measures and a dedicated just the right size spatula, which will remain uncontaminated by other smells. A good instruction insert too, very useful for the gift sets, for people who are just starting out on this awesome healthy bread making adventure.

Perfect for starter
Couldn’t live without them. Perfect for holding the starter in the fridge, they clean well and the small spatula is very useful.

Committment needed
Its good and enclosed recipe to make the sourdough starter is included. However, the room temperature and your commitment must be unwavering. It took over my life but I managed one loaf! I will try again. I also bought my brother one and his failed completely. Maybe try again when the weather gets warmer.

Works well
It seems to work well though the rate at which my wife's starter grows, perhaps a bit bigger would have been better.

Ideal for sourdough bakers
At first I thought the jar was a bit on the small size since I like to keep a 300 ml starter, using half of it to make two loaves of bread... but I have simply changed my method and now I keep two 150 ml starters and use the entirety of one of them for the breads. I then divide the remainder in two and make them up again. That way, if I have to discard one, or if one is slow to rise, I'll still have the other. The spatula could be slimmer and I would have preferred a different colour (black?) The elastics are handy, as are the measurement scales on the sides of the jars.
