I recently purchased the Leviton T5280-E Tamper Resistant Surge Protected Outlet/Receptacle, and I couldn't be happier with its performance. I installed this receptacle behind my wall mounted TV. I liked that it was black so that it would blend in more with the mount and the cords. I hope that I will never need to utilize the "surge protector" function but I do appreciate the light on the outlet to tell me its "protected."The product picture makes it look like the wall place is also a matte black color but in reality it is a glossy black with the outlet itself is matte.

Works as it should. It is quite wide, but I had no problems fitting two in a double box and another in a single gang box. I was hoping for surge protection for this outlet and any additional outlets connected to this outlet, but that was not the case. And just a note for anyone who threw away the instructions and hasn't wired before: White/Neutral to silver screw, Black/Hot to copper/gold screw, and Ground/Green to green screw.

I needed Surge protection for my refrigerator. The computer in the fridge died most likely because of a power surge according to the Internet. A new computer was a few hundred dollars so I bought this surge supresser as a little insurance. So far no issues.

Did a little upgrade in our living room and decided to ditch the nasty, old, plastic outlet plates. These really dressed things up. They look fancy, but are very sturdy and economical.

One of the reasons I went with this surge suppressor is that it's made by Leviton. The installation was used for a refrigerator. Using a plug-in surge protector would have the refrigerator sticking out too far from the wall. Using a recessed surge protector would make it so the refrigerator could fit in the kitchen properly. Checking all the specifications for the surge protector it was applicable for this use.It works perfect and the refrigerator was able to be slipped back much closer to the wall using this recessed surge protector.

I purchased this piece for my electrician to install. He said this was a good brand and it was easy it install. I’m happy with this electrical outlet.
