Must have
Love this cup, I’ve had a few of these and love how they fit in my hand and the cars cup holder. They hold the right amount of coffee or tea for me. I love that I can microwave them. Ive had no issues with the lid leaking or falling off.My teenage daughter has dropped and broken these a couple of times but I still replace them as I prefer drinking out of ceramic to metal and love these cups.

Quality mug, nice cover
The silicon cover is ergonomic and does well to insulate heat. If you tilt it a lot when full, the lid is susceptible to leaking as it is not a true vacuum seal

Fits great in cup holders
The media could not be loaded. I'm a fan of mugs for coffee and prefer them over the normal to go cups and I wanted some sort of ceramic to go cup that would fit in my car's Cup holder.I didn't have many other requirements other than that and to be halfway durable and that's the reason for the four stars instead of five. The overall quality is pretty good and I am happy with it especially for this price, however, I'm on my third one as the first one broke because I somewhat gently bumped it into the sink while washing it and it shattered. The second one was totally my fault it was in a duffel bag that I threw out of my truck and it shattered upon impact. This third one I did the same as the first and it chipped but it didn't break.I've been using it like this for a long time and it hasn't gotten worse but I've been pretty careful with it.As far as temperature control this works about as well as a mug but the lid does help keep some heat in. The Seal of the lid is good as well it doesn't leak. It would if you were to shake it violently or dump it upside down or something but that's not what this is for.Overall I'm happy with the product I've told myself if this one breaks I won't buy another one but honestly I probably will because there's not a whole lot of things like this on the market it seems

Coming up on 7 years with this mug
This has been my travel work mug for almost 7 years now and here are a few tips to get the most out of it:Take the silicone sleeve off and place in the dishwasher separately from the lid and mug to clean it and avoid water getting trapped between the mig and the sleeve.Preheat it by putting some hot water in the mug and then empty it before you put your coffee or tea in it. This way the ceramic will be hit and not Rob the heat from your beverage. It's ceramic, so treat it as such. It can and will break if you treat it like it's a stainless steel tumbler. It is not leak proof and wasn't designed to be. The lid helps to keep the heat and beverage in, but it's not a complete seal.If my mug ever does fail, I won't think twice about getting this one again and I'm glad to see it's still being made.

Poor insulation
Nicely designed mug but it doesn’t keep your beverages warm or cold. Poor insulation.

enhances the taste of coffee
Recently used to drink my coffee out of one of those expensive stainless cups by the four letter name that successfully kept my coffee hot for many hours, however at the cost of taste. I am a black coffee drinker and appreciate the nuances that come with different roasts. If you like piping hot coffee that inhibits any nuance flavors that could possibly be tasted then this may not be for you. If you like the taste of coffee out of a ceramic cup then you will be pleased with this product. It does not keep coffee hot for hours but I don't need that. Good roasted and brewed coffee tastes better at lower temperatures and this vessel lends itself to that crowd that is seeking just that. It cleans easily also contrary to my stainless cup. Highly recommend this product.

I Wish I Got an STD Rather Than This Mug!!!
This mug is one of the worst experiences of my life, and I have seen illness, death, natural disaster, and poverty. When the mug arrived, I washed it. This did not change the fact that it smelled like the Chinese factory that mass produced it is also churning out benzine and insecticides. I filled it with filtered water, and put it in my purse. The lid was firmly secure, and the mug was never tipped more than five degrees from a right angle. This mug LEAKED from the seams, the sliding mechanism at the top, and especially from where slide tab intersects-it was like a garden hose was let loose on my body, my bag, and my car. I had no time to literally mop up the damage, so I had to sit through a meeting looking like I urinated all over myself for over an hour. When I got home, I spread out all my things from my purse, like my day planner and my notebook, like accordions so mildew wouldn't fester. But still, all these things are warped and the ink has run. But wait, the SUCK MUG wasn't through ruining my month. The silicone housing is carefully designed so that water is trapped within its many labyrinthine protuberances and folds, so when I tipped it over to drink from it, it also attacked my laptop and the clothes I'd changed into. Nicely played, Hell-o.As others have pointed out, the Ello mug is heavy as a brick, and of course you don't want to put it in a cup holder or bag as it will turn into a property-destroying geyser of water or coffee. It doesn't insulate worth a d**m, and within thirty minutes all of the ice is melted, or conversely, the coffee is lukewarm. However, your coffee will give you second degree burns before this happens. I know this is subjective, but the suck mug is also hideous. It looks like 70's paneling. Others have noted that the mug will spontaneously break. I haven't experienced this yet, but I am sure that is the next unpleasant surprise-clay made of floor sweepings, cremains, and heavy metals sending explosive "pottery" shards into my chest and neck. Ello should send a mass shipment of these mugs to ISIS, after which they will all die of frustration, dehydration, and mold inhalation. I spent three hours looking for a mug that didn't taste like metal or plastic that I could put my hand into all the way to the bottom for through hand cleaning, which apparently rivals the cancer moon jump in its lofty challenge to mankind.

Bought as highly recommeded, and the NY Times was right!
Read the very positive review in the NY Times Wirecutter page, and purchsed it over more expensive products. It works great, holds a very fair portion of coffee, keeps it hot, and the ceramic body is encased in an excellent easy-to-hold rubbery cover that also adds to the insulation value.
