Firstly I wanna say that I absolutely love the quality of material and craftsmanship of this unit. Great woodwork and keeps perfect humidity when seasoned and used properly so far. I live in Chicago and it is pretty cold and dry here right now so being able to maintain between 69-71% in these conditions as amazing.The reason I took a star is because I think it is inexcusable for such a well built humidor to come with absolutely atrocious analog hygrometer. May be it is just my unit and I will update when I get the replacement, but I already read about a few reviews with the same issue.The second somewhat minor complaint is that there are no instructions for where to put the humidifier unit. I read a little bit online and it seems the best place is under the top tray. Problem is that the sticky part of the magnet does not stay and keeps falling from the wood, which is not ideal. So I just keep it face down on the top tray, but it takes valuable real estate from that tray. May be it is better to just stick it to the inside of the glass, but not sure. Any suggestions would be appreciated.Anyway, it is really a shame that this humidor could be absolutely perfect with minimal (and cheap I believe) upgrade, but it is not.

First let me say the packaging was beyond perfect! I wasnt expecting it to be in a box, wrapped in a box in an Amazon Box on top of that! Great first starter, once open you smell the beautiful aroma of the cedar! OMG it made me instantly crave a fatty Hubano so I lit one up and started the seasoning process with the analog Hyrgrometer it came with. Put it in a ziploc bag with some salt and water a few hours later it was calibrated. Its still in the 24hour phase of the seasoning process so it reads about 80% humidity but thats b/c I have a wet sponge in the humidor allowing the wood to absord that moisture.I will update this review after a week once my sticks are all loaded up and I pick up this digital hygrometer to determine the amount of degrees off if any.**UPDATE** 8/22/13I let the humidor fully season for two weeks as both the digital and analog hygrometer read high readings above 75 degrees. In the time I ordered the humidor I had placed an order for some stogies to smoke before and add them once seasoned. I read a few forums about adding the sticks and the temp will fall. It did just that since it had been sitting alone the sticks absorbed some of the humidity and now its reading closer to 72 degrees on the digital and about 70 give or take + or - 1 or 2 degrees on the analog.I was worried b/c the glass top that it would absorb or leak moisture however it did stay at a high temp for a while until I waited load the sticks and monitor the levels. Product is great for first time humidor and dont rush on loading your stogies! Try the Xicar digital hygrometer.

Pros:• This humidor is more than what I expected for the price - it is solid wood throughout. No MDF or particle/chip wood to be found.• It's heavy, solid, and very well constructed - the corner seams are tight and the glass fits perfectly.• The exterior is very attractive.Cons:• The lid fits loosely. Not a tight seal at all.• For anyone who's had humis or dealt analog hygrometers before this is a given, but for those who haven't: the hygrometer is a joke. While it looks nice, it is wildly inaccurate, and shouldn't be depended on for humidity readings. You will definitely need a digital hygrometer.• The hygrometer fits in so loosely that it nearly falls out. I had to wrap the hygro several times with electrical tape.• The lock mechanism is cheap to the point where it can be a hassle to get the latch to catch. It works and keeps my sticks safe from my very curious four year old, but is a pain.• As someone else mentioned, the capacity. This humi is large for a desktop, but unless you're storing Swishers, you're never fitting 100 cigars.Overall, even though the cons list is a little longer, they're pretty minor, and not unexpected for a non-hand-crafted humidor (especially in this price range). My biggest issue is the loose lid. I'm having to use about twice the RH beads as should be necessary to regulate humidity effectively. But I would still strongly recommend this to anyone looking for an attractive desktop humi.

This box is of really nice quality, I'm satisfied with this purchase. It holds a good number of cigars, I put about 60 in there and it's full so that is pretty good, now I can store a 2 month supply of sticks and won't have to worry about running out if an order of new cigars is delayed.It keeps humidity right where I want it just using bovida packs. This box looks really nice and fancy, if you're thinking about buying it as a gift for a smoker in your life, go ahead and pull the trigger, they will be happy with it :)

I've had the humidor for a couple of weeks. When it arrived, I found that the humidor itself appeared to be fine, but I determined right away that the analog hygrometer is trash. It's very cheap and not even close. The construction of the humidor was good, so I kept it and bought a Govee wireless hygrometer that works great with my iPhone. After seasoning it and loading it with cigars I found that it holds the humidity level fine. After a week the humidity varied less that 1 degree. The seal is tight and it looks great. Not a bad buy for the price.

After being jerked around by e-tailers specializing in tobacco accessories like humidors and hearing backordered items wouldn't be replenished for one to four months, I decided to give this item a shot. Not only was it in stock, it arrived in two days! Top quality finish, looks great on our buffet (placed there as an impediment and barrier to our cats and their insatiable curiosity into an heirloom mantel clock), this "box" proudly displays my topline smokes through the real glass top. And, the analog hygrometer works fine. Not only did the price beat the competition, Prime members like me got free shipping in the bargain. Very happy. Recommend!
