Disappointing.
Seems like nearly no effort was put into the making of this guide. The quality is hardly more than what I could get done with an hours work in Microsoft Word and a trip to the kinko’s store. You say you do black and white to keep the costs low I’d rather pay more for color screenshots so I can actually see what’s happening in them. The formatting leaves much to be desired and the content isn’t much better.Would not recommend and will probably try to build something myself.

Don’t waste your money
I bought this as a potential gift to accompany the game, but after looking at it and attempting to use it myself; it won’t be going any further than my trash can. I wish the extremely low resolution black & white images were the worst of it, but that’s just the beginning unfortunately. This thing would need to be probably twice the size it is to accomplish what it presumably set out to do. It tries to give you some general advice and there’s some context specific tips as well, but the bulk of the book (114 pages) is a month by month walkthrough of the story and events that transpire throughout. It’s extremely lacking in this particular section. At the start of the game and the beginning of every month you’re shown a calendar that tells you all the notable events that will take place and it’s up to you to decide which ones you’ll choose to do as you’re not able to do everything. The book starts out ok’ish, giving you some useful information for exploring the academy and brief descriptions of quests. But, it’s completely inconsistent. There are entire months that they don’t give you ANY information other than the major event ( always a battle) at the end of every month. You’re better off just using your phone to pull up different guides online. It’s a little annoying, constantly jumping between sites, but for a game this involved it kinda goes with the territory

Not the Best guide, but also no the worst
Rather than beat around the bush I'll get right to the point, this guide is sorely lacking when it comes to missing information and information being in an organized structure. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the quality of the guide while finding some information to be helpful, but at the end of the day there is information that is missing. For example, there is a missing guide for the best characters to recruit for to the Black Eagles, not to mention a lack of how best to spend your time each month when trying to build a worthy team by the end of the game. Though I haven't noticed any points that stick out on if the guide should have been solely used on an electronic format, I feel there may have been links to other sections that I am unaware of. That being said, would I purchase this again? Probably not, but that's because I remembered a website that has walkthroughs for free. However, I would suggest to the author that they go back through and update what strategies best worked for them in how they went about training and building characters up, but otherwise it was an awesome guide.

Fatal flaw
This guide is awesome to follow along with. However, mine had missed a chapter- and when I turned page-bam! HUGE spoiler. I had to keep playing without guide until I caught up to where guide had jumped to. Publisher error? I'm not sure. If you have played game before this is fine.
