If you're ever in a situation where you need to start a fire and don't have matches, a windproof lighter or anything else that would be better, this will do just fine. it makes sparks pretty easily and is great for scaring people on the street.

Works like it should
The Adventurer Survival Fire Starter is a basic ferro rod for starting fires quickly and easily. This product is cheaper than others and offers good dimensions at 2.5" in length and a diameter of .25". My biggest issue is the scraper that it was supplied with. It isn't squared enough on it's edge to remove adequate metal and produce the amount of spark others can. I'm using a firesteel.com scraper that works great with this ferro rod. Also, if you're carrying a knife you can "strike" the fire steel with the back edge of your knife if it is squared. Beyond the cheap scraper it's a good product.

Had this rod for a while now and have put it through hell. It's a decent ferro rod except the striker. Use a hacksaw blade or knife spine or other means. Would have given 5 stars but the striker is CRAP
