Super easy to open

Ever had your hands full with groceries and struggle to open a standard button type storm door latch? No more of that with this handle type. It holds the door securely but can be opened with little pressure from my pinky finger. Ordered the first one to put on a door at my mother's house and was so impressed with it, quickly ordered one for my house.

Looks nice and fit perfectly

I had a weird latch on my back screen door/pet door. When the latch finally broke, I took a risk and replaced it with this. It fit perfectly and feels more sturdy than the original

This is a quality handle

I used this handle to replace one that I also purchased on Amazon. The first handle broke, I bought it again, broke less than 2 weeks later. This one is going strong.

FINALLY

I purchased 3 screen latch sets and they either broke quickly or did not fit despite what they said. So far, this latch has handled 3 storms and below 0 temps. We shall see, as our winters are brutal on anything that is outside.

Not really brass

It's definitely pot metal with some kind of coating. It's not brass! The outside handle is bigger than I thought it was going to be, and I almost returned it thinking it was a bit much for my screen door. My partner laughed at it, saying it didn't really "fit" the door, it just looked bulky, like maybe overkill LOL. It kind of matches the real brass hardware on the regular back door tho, which gave it a couple points for looks. It's also a bit heavier than expected, makes my screen door slam a bit harder. My screen door is one of those lightweight white plastic-framed doors from a big box store, that's 1 inch thick. Granted I'm comparing this to the cheaper tulip style turn-handle that was on there; the kind that has an internal spring that can't be fixed so it's toast after a few years. Of course the holes in my door did not match up to install this new handle, but I kept the top hole, drilled the next 2 holes, and after install have an original hole visible now under the new handle, who cares, I will just fill with white caulk. However, we've come to like the new handle, it's very easy to now push the inside handle to open the door to go out to the deck and easy to pull the outside handle to open the door to go inside the house. We're still getting used to the push/pull that replaced the turn handles, but it's working nicely. My biggest disappointment is the black plastic part that goes in and out to grab the catch - I imagine that is the weak point, plastic certainly doesn't last as long as pot metal LOL. That's why I didn't bother replacing the catch (on the door jamb), it just worked and has a spring-loaded little bar - as opposed to the solid metal catch that came with this new handle set. If you're torn between the "brass" one over the black or white one, don't choose brass thinking it's superior - it's just a coating, brass, black, or white. It came with an abundant wasteful amount of pieces to fit a variety of widths. Try it, you can always return it, and then someone can buy the returned one for less money like the one I got.

3 hands needed for installation!

As an old lady that can usually do things for myself, I thought I had it right, then locked myself out of the house because the center pin wasn't in the correct spot! Luckily help arrived in the form of 2 youngsters that got the job done.

Better than a push button

Has hardware for various installations works great no plastic parts, should last better.
