I have been careful not to overload the mixer as this may have been the cause of some negative reviews, The motor has worked fine. Ideal for small jobs and projects takes the backache out of mixing.Assembly is tricky. I managed to get the baffles the wrong way around first time. Not a big job to swop them over.Instructions poor but common sense and previous reviews helped a lot.Been using all summer, only drawback I found was if load too small (and being elderly and building a wall with odd sized stone is time consuming and slow) then mix needed too much water and tended to be too sloppy for my usage although ok for standard bricks. Adding to make enough to set 8 stones worked great and gave me good consistency and right sloppiness..

Not worth the money,we bought it to do some work in the garden,with a small amount of sand and cement in the drum the motor could not cope.waste of money,quicker to mix by hand.

I have hired many concrete mixers over the years for the bigger jobs, but needed something smaller for the little ones. I was concreting in 25 concrete posts doing a couple a day and after hand mixing the concrete felt i needed a mechanical mixer. The job just did not justify hiring the standard one, too much concrete and i would need it for several weeks as i was not always available to do the work (physically and mentally!) I got this and it tripled my work rate. Just a few tips though, use a small garden spade as the normal concreting spade is too large. The mix tends to stick and works best with the mix being a little runny so i found that if you left about a fifth of the ballast till the end, and only adding it after a couple of minutes of mixing with all your water, cement and 4/5 ballast then you would get a the right consistency without it sticking. The nifty tilt control is amazing and very useful and up to now i have not needed to bolt the mixer down as recommended, as for assembling, well easier than Ikea, just keep checking the instructions and it does assemble.

Arrived on the advised date in quite a compact box. A lot of assembly work which I expected. The translated instruction and assembly diagrams are very poor and quite ambiguous. A bit of trial and error involved. The finished item is small but functional which is exactly what I wanted. It will be relatively easy to store away when I have finished the project that I bough it for. Now assembled and working but not used in anger yet. I was disappointed that the welded drum shaft is not central (one of the few bits pre-assembled). This means that the drive gear partly runs off the drive on the drum making a horrible grinding noise every revolution. Shame. I don't have time to dissemble and return it. I'm sure it will still work ok. I guess you get what you pay for.

Great for mixing mortar for building my wall. After about 12 hours use the nut holding shaft at centre of drum came loose resulting in motor not driving drum. Easy to retighten by removing dust cover, must add locktite threadlock and it wont come loose ..then tap nut round with screwdriver until its tight. Apart from that great machine saves all the hard work ..now used for many hours...make sure you clean it out after thoroughly!!

We are still using it. It can do a fair bit of work, we have done over 4 tons with it so far. its very easy to use. As it is only small I mixed the cement with water first and then added the ballast, but it did the job no problem. Easy enough to put together.

Easy to assemble,but I found it too small to make a decent mix, and having to bolting it to the floor not useful for the job so I will have to try to sell it.

Once assembled, which took an hour plus and a bit of fiddling, this mixer proved to be a fabulous purchase being 100% portable yet sturdy when in action. It yields 2-3 buckets of concrete mix per session and is ideal for a small project.
