USB GPS module works better than some other modules.
I have a PiFinder which is a special gadget to locate where your telescope is looking at the night time sky. The original USB connected GPS unit failed and was no longer available. After purchasing a couple of other similar units I found this was the only unit to work. The only issue is that the LED indicator is a bit too bright for night time observing. That can be resolved with a bit of dark tape.

this worked, but i got better reception in some situations from some other types with a long cord

No issues
I purchased this to work with Microsoft Streets & Trips. I plugged it into my Windows 11 notebook PC and after a short while I got a flashing green LED on the dongle. I assume that this indicates reception of a GPS signal. It works great without any additional drivers needed

Pretty good for the price
Overall it's hard to be mad at a $10 receiver. It does work, but unsurprisingly the internal antenna is pretty garbage. This means you'll likely need to have a usb extender to your window if you expect any reliable tracking. This device does NOT have a PPS signal, so if you were hoping for one, look elsewhere.

Simply works
I was initially concerned that there were no instructions. But I plugged it in and it started spitting out NMEA sentences. It was having a bit of trouble getting a good lock on some satellites. So I added a 6 foot USB extension cable and placed it next to a window. Success! Now it has solid lock on all of the GPS constellation. My purpose for buying it was to have an atomic time reference for my FT8 setup. Works like a charm. As a bonus, it knows my Maidenhead grid square to 8 places. I couldn't ask for better.

Easy to use
If it's just a red light, you're either not outside or you're getting interference from a USB3 connection- the latter really mucks up my experience, but the product works. I can't blame it for USB3'S shortcomings.
