Best Glide ASE Fresnel Lens Fire Starter (3 Pack - Green): A Compact Survival Must-Have
The Best Glide ASE Credit Card Size Fresnel Lens Fire Starter and Magnifier Lenses (3 Pack - Green) is a nifty little tool I’ve been carrying in my wallet and camping kit, and it’s proven to be a handy addition for anyone who loves the outdoors or wants a lightweight emergency tool. What’s to Love: These Fresnel lenses are tiny—2” x 3.25” and just 0.4mm thick, weighing a mere 5.5 grams each—so they slide right into your wallet or survival kit without adding bulk. Made of flexible optical PVC, they won’t crack like glass, and each comes with a green protective sleeve to prevent scratches. The 4X magnification is stronger than the typical 2X or 3X credit card magnifiers, making it great for reading fine print on maps or labels in low light. But the real star is the fire-starting capability. On a sunny day, you can focus sunlight to ignite dry tinder, like wood shavings or cotton balls, in minutes with some practice. Amazon reviews praise their portability, with one user noting, “I keep one in my wallet, glove box, and go-bag—it’s a featherweight survival multi-tool.” Another said they burned cardboard quickly, showing the lens’s power when angled right. At $7-$10 for a 3-pack, it’s a dirt-cheap backup for your fire-starting kit.

Necessary for me to read small print
Had one like this that I carried in my purse and lost it. I was devastated until I found these! So handy when you are older and can't read small print as well as you used to. Don't know about the fire starting ability, I always carry a lighter!

Fire and eyes
My eyes aren't getting any younger. I keep one of these in my wallet and have the others stashed in various other places. They come in handy for reading small low contrast print. You can also start a fire with bright enough sun and the correct tinder. That can be a fun experiment to do with the kids. Well supervised, of course.

5/5 ⭐️
Bought these so each member of my family can add it to their go-bags. Haven’t had a chance to use them yet, but they seem like they will work. I guess I’ll have to try them before an emergency situation. Small/compact and lightweight, perfect for backpacking.

Good Magnifier, but not my first choice at starting a fire
First of all, the product is okay as a Magnifying lens and the cost is reasonable. What I don't like about the product, is that it is often very hard to light a fire with a magnifying lens. I have tested this myself and unless the sun is at a good angle, you are not going to get a fire from this device. You may brown the paper (or whatever you are trying to light), but that might be all you get. Besides, what if you need a fire when the sun goes down. This product is not going to help you in that situation.I would recommend the follow items first before you include this item in your survival pack: Good Magnesium Fire Steel, Disposable Lighter, Matches. Don't forget to pack some cotton balls. Cotton balls go up incredible fast and they are fairly cheap and light weight. When you add some petroleum jelly to the cotton balls, you get a hot start to your fire and the fire will last a little longer.I will carry this item in my survival pack because it is so light, but I doubt I will be trying to start any fires with it.
