I generally use a liquid foundation so was keen to try this powder version, as it’s more versatile to carry around with me. The case itself is good for this, it opens like a normal compact with the foundation on top and separate compartment underneath for the sponge pad it comes with. It has quite a nice smooth velvety texture to it and was easy to apply onto the sponge. It didn’t spread very easily though so I found when applying it I had to use it quite sparingly otherwise it created uneven blotches that I had to try to smooth out quite firmly to move it. Got the colour toffee which is quite dark, bit too dark for my complexion so I wouldn’t wear it for the full day to to try on. Overall for £10 I think it’s ok, but would’ve expected a better even coverage for the price.

This powder is effortless to apply. Since it has buildable coverage I can use it for all occasions. From daily use to evening parties.I normally use the beauty blender even for the powder foundation. And it gives a nice coverage even with the little product. It has a skin-like finish and I liked it.A single colour can cover multiple skin shades.I have a warm undertone and this fair porcelain looks great.It is a budget option and I will recommend it.

I ordered this compact foundation for my wife who has sensitive, combination skin with a few visible pores and wrinkles (she said I should say that, I’m not an idiot). The Fair Porcelain shade is a pretty good match for her pale skin, and probably the closest from the 16 shades available.The compact is well designed and sturdy, it’s easy to open but closes securely, so it’s ideal for popping in your bag for touch-ups during the day. The top section holds the foundation and the bottom section has a good mirror and also includes a velvety pad for applying the powder. My wife found that, although the pad applied the foundation quite well, the edges were a bit scratchy so it’s fine for touch-ups but she uses a make-up sponge for full application. It would be good if foundation refills were available as it seems wasteful to throw such a good compact away when it’s empty.The powder feels silky and lightweight to apply and goes on smoothly. It gives a very matte, but not chalky, finish and the colour stays true and doesn’t oxidise. Used on its own, my wife found the coverage to be a bit light for her skin type, although you can build it up a bit, but it may be better suited for people with younger skin or better skin tone. If you have dry patches, you definitely need to moisturise well and use primer, otherwise the powder will highlight these areas. My wife usually applies a powder foundation to set her liquid foundation for a full face make-up look, and this powder gave a better finish for her used in this way.My wife was a bit disappointed that, whichever way she applied it, the powder didn’t have a very ‘Lasting Finish’ on her skin and her T-zone started getting shiny after about 4 hours, so she needed to touch-up regularly - on the positive side, the foundation doesn’t get cakey even with multiple touch-ups during the day.This compact foundation is convenient and easy to use and has the bonus of SPF20 protection, and at £10.99 it’s reasonably priced, so if it works for your skin type it could be a good option but unfortunately it’s not really suitable for my wife.

This powder foundation feels comfortable because it does not dry out my skin and feels lightweight. It is easy to apply and has a matt and natural finish. The coverage is good and long lasting. The compact feels sturdy and easy to carry. I ordered the Ivory colour is a good match for my skin.

I have been using this as a finishing powder and it has been working really well.With dry skin and lines appearing everywhere I have to be so careful which powder I use. I normally buy premium brand finely milled powders, But this one finishes really nicely when applied with a brush and is a fraction of the price. It does not overly matify which is great for dry skin.It does come with a lovely powder press, however I prefer using a brush.

Lasting finish compact foundation from Rimmel in Soft BeigeI’ve used Rimmel liquid foundation in this colour for many years so I was keen to try it out in compact form .This compact comes with a soft sponge for application and only a small amount is needed for each sweep across the skin .It covers smoothly and evenly with light natural coverage and has a nice matte finish. Using the sponge means I don’t get messy fingers either .I was able to touch up specific areas with what was left on the sponge and the colour is exactly as I get with liquid .I haven’t tested its staying power to the full 25 hours but it stayed put from very early morning to a late bed time ,nearly 18 hours .Everything I got from the liquid foundation and more ,smooth coverage ,SPF 20 , long lasting but less messy and more even coverage .This will be my go to going forward , it’s more expensive but I hope will last longer .

This foundation has worked very well on my skin. It is good at hiding all the blemishes and it is waterproof. Remmel is a good brand and a very well known brand so I would highly recommend it.
