Worked great. The only thing that may be an issue for other customers is the mounting posts are opposite each other, where the original posts were 45 degrees from each other.

For the price, you can't beat it... First one I got was defective and I called DB Electrical, and they shipped me another within a couple days. Spotty quality control, but excellent customer service...

Never got my starter i have no way to contact anyone to tell the amazon will not answer i need a refund or a starter please if not i will let everyone know if they do i have never had this happen with them alway on time so I will see what happens update by friday

Exactly what I needed
The starter fit perfectly and is spinning fast and strong. My 40hp Mercury outboard will help us have loads of fun on the water now.

Hmmm. This doesn't fit my 55 hp SeaPro.
My engine requires a part# 50-44369A1 - which this motor is described at replacing. The mounts in my engine are too large in diameter. Bolt don't line up. Does not fit.Motor seems pretty good quality though, so 2 stars.
