Worked okay but I didn't check my lights and the box didn't say. Turns out mine is probably closer to 8mm wide. I had to bend the terminals on the outside in and do a LOT of fiddling but the product worked well and held it tight.The issue was only me not knowing the size. If I bought a 10mm light string in sure it would be really easy plug and play.Thankfully it didn't break when bending the small metal contacts. I had to open it a few times to adjust and the plastic clip holding it closed didn't break surprisingly.The plastic guitar pick looking thing was useless but a pocket knife blade or glasses size flat head screwdriver will work well.Saved me from needing to buy another light string after stapling through the cable.

Simple? yes. Easy? No. You will need patience and a delicate hand in some cases to make this work. If you are working with exposed contact standard LED strip lights, you will find these pretty straight forward and easy to use. The only tweak you may need is a little lift of the contact pressure points in the adapter to lift them above the strip you are inserting.The real challenge comes in using the adapter with waterproof strip lights. For this, you will need a very sharp knife - I used a scalpel blade to cut through the epoxy just to the plastic strip, and then used the scalpel to peel back the few milometers of goop to expose the contacts properly. I then used the scalpel to scrape the adhesive from the back of the LED strip to thin it out. Once both were complete, it was just like a standard strip for the adapter. The good news is if you screw up your only penalty is you have to cut a few more inches of strip back and then try again.All in all, a little pricey for what it is, but it's the only simple solderless solution I found. And now I have a bunch extra - as will you!

My son got LED lights for his room for Christmas and due to his excitement I went against my better judgement and hung them before measuring. Needless to say, we were short by about 15’. I ordered these connectors and was very concerned that having to cut the light strands I would be ruining his lights and the connections wouldn’t work. I definitely advise trying these before sticking lights to the wall, it will be much easier! After the first try, and a lot of adjusting I the lights after the connection did not work properly. They either didn’t light up, his remote stopped controlling all the lights, only certain colors/functions worked or the lights were different colors between the two strands. I poured through the reviews and gave myself a break because I was very annoyed and tried again. This time I used a new connector, tried lifting the prongs only enough to slide the lights in and made sure to line everything up perfectly. Bingo! Lights all work, are the same color and no change between strands! The second time I also had two separate strands that connected to the wall instead of one long stand which may have been the reason for the success also. I would recommend these if you don’t mind figuring them out and as long as you aren’t adding too much length to your first strand.

They are bright and have good adherence to multiple surfaces.

These connectors are difficult to pry open and the pick that comes with it is useless. I was able to open them using a micro screwdriver but even with that it was tricky to open without breaking the tab that holds the connectors closed. Once they're opened inserting the LED wire is tricky as well so my advice is to have the LED lights turned on when connecting the wire to the connector as you're likely to find that they're not working after you close the connectors. Having the LED lights turned ON will allow you to see if you have a good connection. Don't worry these are low voltage. The instruction is not very useful so here are the steps I took to connect the wires:1. Once the connectors are opened, the trick is to lift the 4 metal silver wires inside the connector so that the LED wire strip can be tucked under them to have tight connections. I used a flat micro screwdriver to lift the metal wires but do it gently to prevent breaking them.2. Tuck the LED wire underneath the 4 wires inside the connector and then close the connector tab. There's a channel in the connector where you can slide the LED wire.3. Shut the connector tightly and make sure the tab on the connector snaps closed. This step will push the lifted metal wires down for tight connection.4. Do the same to the other end of the connector with the LED wire strip that you're connecting.I wish I could take a video but I don't have a tripod. Good luck!

Quite possibly the worst money I’ve spent, got the right size but these are a pain in the butt to get open, it probably took me a solid twenty minutes to get a connector open. Then, when I did manage to get it open, it was nearly impossible to get my strips to connect on both sides so they would work, and finally when they did both turn on at the same time they were different colors. Do not waste your money.

Bought two sets of Daybetter LED lights for daughters for Christmas. Ended up buying the Daybetter connectors too because their rooms were a little longer than 50 feet around. The Daybetter lights are GREAT but their connectors DO NOT WORK. On a whim tried this set of connectors to see if we'd have better luck and these work exactly like they are supposed to. Make sure the strips you're connecting are both facing the same direction, cut on the copper cutting oval marks, and slide them under the 4 metal prongs and two plastic prongs and you'll be successful.

I had to move some shelves on my entertainment center and that meant my led lights didn't go all the way around the shelf with the TV on it anymore. I found the left over LEDs from when I originally installed it and used these to connect it to the main strip and it works perfectly!
