Nice battery

Just what I needed for my old phone.

Holds the charge

The battery is nice, long-lasting, I feel like my old phone is new again. My father was using that phone for years and I want to keep it, but I did not expect that it is still possible to find good battery for that, I am very happy.

It works

It holds a charge very well. It hasn't weakened significantly since I first got it a few months ago. It doesn't get too hot when charging or in use.The only criticism I have is that it doesn't seem to last longer than the official Samsung battery as the product claims. If anything it seems to drain slightly quicker than the last official battery I had when it was new.

Only 2900 mAh After A Year of Use

I used for a year, followed instructions for its initial charging and declaring protocol, ans began using it a year ago. In this space, I always wondered why no one ever came up with a subjective review, based on actual dats from measuring the true battery capacity in terms of actual mAH vs. advertised mAH.Amazon seems to have the best reviews still, especially with the help of FakeSpot, but even then it can only go so far when not a single review can give a simple measurement of an obvious metric.Until now, and I am that user. I bought a device which would measure the total charge in terms of mWH given to the BOANV battery. Since there is a residual charge of 8% in the battery, in charging to 100%, I obtained a value of 13200 (see first pic) mwH. Compensating for the residual charge, I would come up with a value of 13200/.92 = roughly 14,500 mwH. I would divide this value by 5V to get a value of 2900mAH.The only thing I can conclude is that after a year of use, the mAH falls below both the original galaxy note 4 battery specs of 3220mAh, and farther below its own advertised specs of 4800 mAH.But to be fair, I only got the measuring device now, and didn't have the chance to measure the value when the battery was brand new or unused yet.At 2900 mAH, the battery is at 60% of its advertised capacity. Granted, there were a few times I exhausted the battery to zero (twice at most) and perhaps a half dozen times the charge went below 20%. But since this is a LiFEPO4 cell, shouldn't it be more forgiving than lithium ion batteries in retaining charge capacity with battery drains?I have other phones I would like to install LiFePO4 batteries. Now that I have a nice and affordable tester, I can test LiFePO4 batteries to see which of them is the real deal, or if there is any truth to them at all in being viable replacements to standard lithium ion batteries.By the way, I obtained this tester from Lazada. Someone should sell this in Amazon. You can ro an image search with Google and Amazon to find this tester. Cost me around $5 only. Can be used also to test powerbanks, which often fail to live up to their advertised capacity.

Battery seems to be just fine .

Well got the battery and it started getting hot. I was replacing a battery that lasted 2 years and my phone started doing weird things and then a notification that battery was not keeping up with apps . So i got this one and it acted weird hot something . But after resetting my phone and and not using it so much thinking it was the new battery or my phone . So now it seems to be fine . Maybe my old battery was so bad it took a lttle time for my phone to calm down. So we will see. UPDATE. Wanted to say everything is fine with this battery.

Caused issues with my phone from the beginning

Finally writing a review on this. From the beginning, this battery seriously messed with my phone. The only problem with my phone prior to installing this battery is that the old battery would no longer hold a charge.Installed this new battery, and within 24 hours up until now, almost 4 months later, I have been battling my phone randomly turning off, even with a full charge, multiple times a day. Sometimes it turns back on by itself - like it does it's own reboot. Most of the time, it just turns off. I find it off at some point, think perhaps the battery died, plug it in, and the battery indicator immediately goes to anywhere from 45% to 90%, depending on how long the phone was on before shutting itself off. So I turn the phone back on, and yes indeed, plenty of power. It's been annoying the crap out me, but since I have no cell service at home, it wasn't a big enough deal for me to do anything about. Then, about two or three weeks after installing, it started to do this weird cycle thing if the phone was off and I plugged it in to charge. I literally could not charge the phone, nor could I turn it on. It just kept cycling the charging icon off and on, with a little vibration thing with each cycle. The only way to stop it was to remove the battery and reinstall. Finally, a couple of days ago, I could no longer get it to stop the cycling thing. I couldn't turn the phone on, nor could I charge it, no matter how many times I removed the battery and reinstalled. So, I bit the bullet and ordered a new phone. Then I started messing with this one, since it wouldn't really matter what I did to it, as a new phone is on it's way to me. Low and behold, I finally realized that the battery really doesn't fit properly. It's a tiny, tiny bit too short, so the battery can rattle up and down, which means it is constantly disconnecting. I took a piece of paper about 1" x 1", folded it several times so it was about 1/5" x 1", and crammed it between the bottom edge of the battery and the phone frame, which makes the battery tight in it's slot, and pushes it up against the connections. (Photo attached - you can see the edge of the yellow paper.) I've had zero issues with the phone since, although it's only been 2 1/2 days. I wouldn't use it like this long term, but it will do until my new phone arrives.
