From 2 Users of Clear Care Plus
As someone who prefers the product. I feel someone should balance out the negativity and enable anyone reading to come to a resolution. A large number of the 1-star reviews are proposing original Clear Care as a superior product. This could be true for a majority of users. I have Dry Eye as a result of a medical condition. I opted for Plus because an Optometrist recommended it and my standard Multipurpose Cleaner Saline Solution had HydraGlyde as well. I don’t have any experience to speak of, for any Contact Solution that doesn't contain HydraGlyde. I've never used one. I have been using Clear Care Plus for a couple of months now. I certainly don’t have any cloudiness. I know someone who has been a user of Clear Care Plus for over a year, with no complaints. This person before switching almost compulsively put drops in their eyes for cleaning or dryness while using a popular Multipurpose Cleaner for overnight cleanses. Over the course of their first year, I observed a complete behavioral change. I could only attribute the change to the contacts getting cleaner immersed in Clear Care Plus vs. the Standard Multi Purpose Cleaner Saline Solution. I made the switch myself. I believe Clear Care Plus to be the better platform for HydraGlydes purposes. I change contacts on a monthly basis. I have noticed from normal wear that with Clear Care Plus, the contact lenses stay moist longer than with saline solution. By far what I find most impressive is the noticeable difference in the cleanliness and comfort of the lenses. Each day feels like the first, and I can see better. I am sure multipurpose saline solution disinfects or people would be walking around with eye infections. Nonetheless disinfecting and cleaning designate different tasks. I believe Clear Care and Clear Care Plus to be superior at both, especially in the realm of protein removal. Furthermore, I would go as far as to say I think Clear Care and Clear Care Plus to be better preventative care against an eye infection overtime then a saline solution would ever be capable of.I realize comparing a Saline Solution to a Peroxide-Based Solution carries some burden of unfairness. It has been well documented that Peroxide Based Solutions clean better than Saline counterparts but I deem a comparison necessary since Saline Solutions remain the industry-standard. I believe this to be because Saline Solutions are more convenient in the short-term. Saline Solutions recommend 6 hours of immersion but can be removed beforehand if necessary. Clear Care and Clear Care Plus immersion takes a mandatory 6 hours for the lenses to be ready for wear. The increased length of time correlates to the key active ingredient Hydrogen Peroxide. The Peroxide must be neutralized before being put into the eye or it will burn, it won’t be pleasant. This doesn’t sound safe for everyday use but from research, I learned that if the worst happened the Peroxide wouldn't do any long-term damage. Clear Care Solutions are only 3% Peroxide, this isn't the same strength of the stuff on store shelves, but it does do an awesome job of cleaning contacts. The Peroxide does not naturally neutralize on its own. The included Tube with Clear Care and Clear Care Plus Solution has a special Platinum Disc attachment considered safe for up to 100 uses. It’s the Platinum Disc in the Tube that begins the process of neutralization as soon as it comes in contact with the peroxide. This is why everyday Contact Cases cannot be used with Clear Care or Clear Care Plus. The same holds true for other generic Peroxide-Based Solutions. I won’t go into the science behind the method, but the Platinum Disc effectiveness does diminish over time. Clear Care Solutions have simple instructions to discard The Contact Tube When the supplied solution empties and start fresh. In no scenario was one Tube designed to be in use after it’s accompanying Bottle or Bottles has emptied.A pack of two 12 oz. bottles should come with 1 Clear Care Plus Blue Top Contact Tube. As per my experience the Tube will be safe to use through the two bottles provided in the pack. The Tube should then be discarded. The company changes the color of the Top of the Contact Tube depending on the supply size purchased. A 3 oz. bottle of Clear Care Plus solution comes with a White Top Contact Tube. I am guessing the color coding has something to do with the durability of the Platinum-Disc. In my opinion, it may be safer and more economical to design one universal Tube instead of color coding but I don't work for the company. If a wearer experiences any discomfort from contact wear immediately after inserting a contact while using Clear care Plus and the accompanying bottle or bottles has not completely emptied its probably an indication the Contact Tube needs to be cleaned out. I generally clean the Tube every 2 weeks or so by filling The Tube with solution with no contact inside and pouring out the dirty Solution when its time to put the contacts inside. The Clear Care Contact Tube has a very different design, and I think it's more efficient than traditional Cases. The lid can be easily twisted off. There are two compartments with doors labeled L and R attached to the lid. To insert a contact, open a door and place the contact in the appropriate compartment. Pour the solution to the Fill Line on the Tube and screw the lid with the attached compartments back on. The bubble action will begin. Wait six hours, remove the lid, open the compartment that corresponds to the desired eye and done. The company recommends a 5-second prewash before inserting the lenses into the Tube but there is no need to actually touch Solution at any point. This seems more sanitary then dabbing a finger in Solution or pouring into a palm just to get a contact out, even if hands are washed The remaining neutralized liquid in the Tube can be poured out at the earliest convenience and its ready for use, provided it is not the time to clean it or replace it.If it becomes necessary to remove the Contacts and use them within 6 hours. A Wearer could use a Standard Multipurpose Saline Solution and a conventional Contact Case for the time being. The company does make a Rinse and Go formula that is Peroxide Free. However, Rinse and Go does not disinfect. Nor does it have HydraGlyde and unlike Clear Care and Clear Care Plus it contains a small amount of preservatives. Rinse and Go does tout being the closest thing to the human eyes natural tears. I use it simply as rewetting drops, not often but when needed. I am hard on a pair contacts. We sincerely hope this helps fellow contact wearers come to an informed decision. Perhaps, if I didn’t have dry eyes, I would have opted for original Clear Care but the aforementioned User doesn’t have any eye issues and has not had a problem with Clear Care Plus.

Best solution, hands down
This remains my absolute favorite contact lens solution. I will quit it sometimes just to test if it's still the best and will use traditional saline solutions, and my contacts are always slightly occluded in this high pollen season. Clear Care is the ONLY solution that gets my bi-monthly contacts fully clean each night after being outside among the allergens. My eyes are much happier for this product, that's for sure.

Extends the life of your current pair of contacts
Extends the life on your current set of contacts, great if you’ve been in the wind or dust or sand all day! They really restore moisture to your contacts….feels like you’re putting a brand new pair in. Makes them so soft again. Great for your eyes. Love the ease of the cleaning container and cage it comes with.

Only 1 lens container
I usually get this from a big box store but I ended up getting it from Amazon. While these are great I wish they came with 2 containers like the ones I usually buy from said box store.

I ordered this for when my sample bottle runs out. We call this my science experiment when I use it for cleaning my hard contacts!

NOTE — you have to RINSE!! — instructions below
EDIT: so glad I had experience with this product already, because some of these reviews and pics are scary! I feel so bad for those folks and am not negating their experiences, esp since I have allergies to a lot of products other people don’t, but I wanted to share how my optometrist taught me to RINSE my contacts before wearing; otherwise, you’re going straight from a hydrogen peroxide solution to your eyes!! EEK! And if folks aren’t letting it sit for the minimum 6 hours, that cleaning solution is still active and will burn your eyes!!! Again, eek!So I follow my optometrist’s instructions and have had no issues whatsoever, and couldn’t wear contacts without it - allergies just gunk up my monthly lenses too quickly. So be sure to wait the 6 hrs, but also add steps 5 & 6 to ensure you remove every trace of the cleaning solution and you might have a better experience. The extra 10 min are worth it!INSTRUCTIONS (steps 5 & 6 are the key):1. add cleaning solution up to the line in the little jar2. put contacts in the little cage, hold over sink with the sink stopper closed (I’m a klutz), and run cleaning solution over it for 5 seconds3. screw cage onto jar - do not shake! - and let sit overnight or at least 6 hours (this is not an instant product)4. discard used cleaning solution5. again hold the cage over the sink (stopper closed), and run your *NORMAL CONTACT SOLUTION* over it for at least 5 seconds to rinse (I use Opti-Free puremoist with HydraGlyde)6. fill your normal contact case with FRESH normal contact solution, add your contacts, and LET SIT AT LEAST 10 minutes7. contacts are now clean, RINSED, and ready to wear~~~~~ORIGINAL REVIEW: Bad shipping!! Luckily the lens case and bottles arrived intact, considering it was shipped in a silly brown paper envelope with no padding and the product box arrived crushed. duhI have seasonal allergies and am wearing contacts again for the first time in 40 years, and this is the only reason I'm able to wear my monthly lenses for an actual month! Otherwise, they're so coated with gunk that I'd have to rotate to new ones in half the time, even with daily cleaning with my usual solution - and they’re pricey enough as it is. BUT per my opthomologist, I do rinse them with saline after cleaning and let them sit in my regular case with fresh saline for ten minutes before putting them in my eyes -- as opposed to the instructions saying you can wear them right out of this cleaning solution. I use this sytem once a week and it works GREAT - as long as you can get it in one piece!
