It's easy to install and the data transfer rate is fast
I used it with a Windows 10 desktop machine that was previously connected directly to a network via an Ethernet cable but was then moved to a location where no cable connection was available. The device was recognised immediately it was plugged in and all that was necessary was to enter the wireless network credentials. I connected it to a 5GHz WiFi 6 network and the connection was fast (800Mbps+) and reliable. In use it just works and in practice the wireless connection seems as fast as the cable connection I was using previously.I'd happily buy another.

Keeps Laptop Connected
This is really useful when the Ethernet board or software fails as you can connect to WiFi through it.It comes with a driver disk or these can be downloaded online if you don't have a dvd/cd player installed.Installation - provided your ok with your tech was straightforward and it connected immediately to a WiFi network. It probably could run at the speeds it says it can but l am nowhere near these, but that's fine. Since buying this a well known supplier of PC software starting with M has confirmed that there was a software driver problem with the network card for which a fix has now been installedOverall good value for money and comes on good packaging.

Easy Connection for Remote Wifi
So ive been using the 3 pin plugs and running my PC via ethernet about 15meters away from the router, I have 3 rooms including a 450mm thick brickwall in the direct line and the wiring isnt the newest either so my PC hasnt been running as fast as my laptop does near the router - so I purchased this USB aerial for want of a better word, I stuck the thing in a USB slot and went about reading the instruction and put in the disc, but by time my screen came on it was simply already asking for a password (windows 10) and i popped in the wifi code and it connected instantly and I did a speed test and I was hitting 59mbs download and 13.3upload - I pay for Vodafones 76mbs connection, but never achieved it (their engineers came round and confirmed it couldnt be improved so I get a discount) - so cant really fault this thing, its as fast as next to the router and idiot proof to plug in, feel dumb for not getting it sooner! stoked :)

Works perfectly...........thank you.

simply doesn't connect or disconnects after several seconds
This dongle simply doesn't connect to my flagship ASUS wifi routers, neither 2g nor 5g bandwidths on up-to-date Win11. Not sure how it earned this score but explains discount.

Auto-detected in Windows, a real pain to set up in Linux
I bought this to improve the signal that I got on my Raspberry Pi 4. Plugging it in this didn't register at all. Digging around I ended up having to do a distribution upgrade and build some open source drivers to get this to run at all, and the connection speed and quality was largely unchanged from the completely inadequate results obtained from the internal Wifi. To be fair, my main suspicion at this point is that I maybe want a powered hub and the Raspberry Pi may be unable to supply it with enough power, but it's a pain to set up and without additional hardware doesn't seem fully usable on a Raspberry Pi, so that's disappointing. However, plugging this into the Windows 10 laptop nearby was a completely different story. It auto-detected and installed any necessary drivers without any input required from myself, and all I had to do was enter the network connection details. It may still not have been able to pick up the 5GHz band from my mesh network, but it got a noticeably stronger connection than the laptop's internal WiFi, so that was the main goal. While I don't know about how well it uses the 5GHz bands (I think it's just too weak a signal in this location) it certainly picks up the 2.4GHz band sufficiently better at a reasonable price that it's worth considering. With its size obviously this is going to be better suited to either a desktop or a laptop or other device that's not being moved around much, but it feels reasonably constructed - I've certainly had flimsier dongles in the past. You probably want to skip this on Linux (you can find out the chip and get open source drivers but it's enough of a faff that there are just easier options around) but it's a worthwhile budget option on Windows
