Love This Stuff To Fix All Kinds of Items!

Sugra is a wonderful putty-like substance from which you can shape all kinds of different ways. I've used it now for several years, and never fail to find many useful purposes for it. I always like to have some on hand for all manner of household repairs and purposes. Storing it in a refrigerator greatly extends its shelf life. It comes in small little foil packages, then you kneed it with your fingers for a minute, and you have about 30 minutes with which to use it to repair or form into all kinds of shapes before it begins to slowly harden. And unlike the many less expensive similar products out there, this stuff is of a far higher quality than those imitator items. I know this from experience, because it's true that Sugra is rather expensive, but because it works so wonderfully, it's worth every penny!

So effective and easy for repair on wood and ceramics.

This stuff is so easy to use and works so well! I used it in replacing some black chair leg floor protectors which left black marks on the floor in a walk-in shower. Was able to use a tan sugu -and no more marks. Also excellent in repairing some small chips on ceramic pieces. Very unobtrusive and so much better than superglue.

One-of-a-kind Product - I love Sugru - I want more!

I purchased this on a whim in order to fix a busted piece of plastic inside of my OneWheel having used it in the past for shoring up an expensive laptop power adapter cable. This stuff is really quite amazing. For my usage, I had a plastic threaded rod that snapped in half. It had an aluminum nut attached which was bouncing around in the interior of the controller board. I wanted to simultaneously eliminate the nut and fix the threaded rod (it connected to the power button, so it's pretty necessary!). The Sugru *did not stick* very well to the threaded rod, which was something I had expected but hoped would "get lucky" on. As it turned out, I *did* get lucky. After opening a pack, I smashed a large-ish portion of it along the rod (about 1" length with about half covered). After letting it sit for 24-hours, I had a very solid glob of "what once was goo" holding the rod together and everything in place. Though it didn't adhere directly to the rod very well, that worked out in my favor. With a little careful nudging, I could unscrew the wad of Sugru -- I'd basically made a very long, structurally acceptable ... nut.Since then, I've used this stuff all over the place. On the downsides - the 4- rather than 5- star review was given because:1) It's expensive. You really don't get very much and once you've used it and discovered the strength, you'll want more. I don't know if this stuff is particularly expensive to make or if these folks just know there's nothing else out there that works. Frankly, a dollar a packet is *too much* let alone almost two dollars a packet. There's about enough to shore up two USB cables in each packet. I'd rather the packets have 2-3 times as much at about 1/2 the price, but as there's nothing else comparable to this product, I'm stuck -- and every time I find a use for it I run it through the "is that really worth $2-$4 to improve"?2) It takes *forever* to cure. It remains as sticky/tacky as it did coming out of the container after several hours. At 12 hours, it's much more solid/less tacky -- really, pretty strong and about what I expected it to be when it was done (about half what the marketing copy implies). However, after 24 hours, it's done and *way* more durable than I expected. That's stored/cured indoors, low humidity, varying from 65-72 degrees. If you are covering a part and need to set it somewhere, set it on some plastic wrap; it won't stick but you'll also discover that the part touching the plastic wrap is less cured than the rest, as well, so move it around. The benefit of the added cure time is that it spoils slower; it also dries slowly, which -- as expected -- means that once you've formed it, it cures very smoothly; I noticed no difference between the formed and cured shape. It didn't shrink/wrinkle/otherwise deform while curing which is frequently a problem with glue-like-things that cure rapidly. Whatever chemical reaction is taking place, though, does warm the wad up noticeably but didn't affect the shape.3) It expires, apparently. I have a few in packets that are from last Christmas. I just used one this weekend. It was as good as the ones I just bought. I read reviews indicating to store it in a fridge and expect it to be worthless after six months but my experience -- storing it in a drawer in my house and forgetting about it -- would suggest it lasts longer than that. I believe they've tweaked the formula a few times, so it might be that I just have a newer formulation than the one that caused the warnings, or the warnings are just wrong. Either way, it worked great at nearly a year with no care taken as to how the things were stored. On the pros side:1) Way ... way stronger than I had expected. Stronger than silicone caulk, rips less easily than all of the silicone mold mixes I've used -- this stuff hardens in a manner that it feels like tire rubber -- soft-ish, won't produce sharp edges, but still physically difficult to rip/tear. I haven't done any scientific tests and I'll attest that it is not as strong as some of the epoxies I've worked with but those strong epoxies also harden to a solid plastic consistency and cannot be used in some places where Sugru works well.2) It worked *better* than the marketing suggested in almost every way -- I have used it to adhere several different kinds of plastics without issue. When it didn't adhere (plastic wrap and things made out of the same material do not adhere well), it cured hard enough that forming it around/over the part resulted in a bond that made the adhesion irrelevant.

Time to mold

Best product ever, used it to fill in gaps for car dashboard, and gives plenty of time to work with it before it hardens.

Favorite bonding agent!

This product is specially pricey, but I like how it's non-toxic and waterproof, and able to withstand heat and cold abuse. I use it for items that come close to food or organic items (broken tongs, colanders, plant sprinklers, etc.) If I love an item and it broke, this is a Suguru is a bonding agent I go to for repair.

From 'Súgradh' to Salvation: This Moldable Miracle Saves Electronics

This Tesa Sugru Super Glue is the perfect solution for reviving deteriorating cables. Years after a friend gave me a sample (which I'd forgotten about), I remembered this product when my headphone cables began crumbling at the strain boot. Rather than waste time and money shipping them back to the manufacturer, I decided to try Sugru. What I didn't know until recently is that "Sugru" derives from the Irish word "súgradh" meaning "play" - quite fitting for this versatile, moldable material invented by Irish designer Jane Ní Dhulchaointigh who wanted to help people repair rather than replace their belongings. The repair feels remarkably solid with good durability. While buying the multi-pack was more economical (which explains why my friend had extras to share), I'm storing the remainder in the refrigerator as recommended to preserve its shelf life. Though I hope not to need frequent repairs, it's reassuring to have this reliable solution on hand.
