Colad Soft Edge Automotive Foam Masking Tape for Sealing Car and Truck Door Jams Overspray Protection 1/2 Inch x 54 Yards (13 mm x 50 m)

The intended application for this adhesive foam bead is automotive painting, but it can also be used vry effectively to mask or feather the finish on a guitar. I shot just the top of a guitar, and avoided a complete re-spray. Using the Colad I was able to wrap clear coat around the guitar binding and taper it off quickly. The adhesive foam bead creates an air trap that transitions to no-finish, which helps to eliminate sharp lines. The adhesive works excellent. Tacky enough to keep the foam tape in place, but not sticky enough to pull off any original finish in the area you're looking to feather. Easy to peal back & re-align for the perfect mask. I'm using 2K automotive paints with poly clear - caution is recommended if using with nitro finishes. Test an inconspicuous area and/or use a tack reducer with the adhesive. The white foam bead hasn't reacted with any of our automotive paint products, it seems to attract clear coat without allowing it to wick up into the masked area, and it was easy to remove. This is truly a great product with a variety of uses, and beyond that it's less than half the cost per lineal foot of 3M's offering. This is a must-have for paint shops, can be used for a variety of applications with great results.

I use this around door edges to keep overspray out. Easy to install just watch the video. Has not let me down yet.

Seems very well made. Been using the more expensive brand for years and I think I’m going to like this one better . Only done one car with it so far but it worked well, left no glue or residue , stopped overspray and left no line .

This works perfect for sealing door jams and other seams for spray painting cars, I am using it for painting my truck in my home garage and I am very happy about how it works at keeping over spray out of my freshly painted door jams. I used similar products as an Automotive painter and am very pleased at how this worked.

This stuff works great maybe better than 3M‘s brand has a great sticky adhesive and doesn’t leave any residue behind. I would suggest this to anyone

Amazon shows this as several different sizes. What I received was all the same size. About 3/8 inch. What I received is good but the different sizes as shown in pictures would have been nice.

Not only have I used this for its intended purpose but I have used it for other purposes and it worked well for that too. I had a torn seal on a rooftop air conditioner and use this as a seal. I don't know if it's UV stable but I didn't need that under the air conditioner.
