Authentic haggis
I'm not an organ eater; don't like liver, kidneys, etc. so I didn't care for this, but I was having a Scottish dinner party and you can't not have haggis. The meat was fresh and it looked good. If you like organ meats, I would recommend this product.

Perfect!
For canned haggis, this is outstanding! The taste and texture are spot-on, and the aftertaste is wonderful due to being perfectly seasoned. I prefer it a bit more peppery like what I had in Dumfries, but that's an easy fix. Overall, this is wonderful. Yes, it's expensive but it's also not something you'd eat every day.Pro Tip: This haggis is amazing in an omelette! Just microwave about 3 tbsp of the haggis (to warm it up) and then add it when the eggs are just about cooked and ready to fold over. Seriously... it's fantastic!!

Good but too expensive
I like the product, but have too many questions.Like many other reviewers, one of my two cans was dented. That's unacceptable for a product costing over $12/can.The flavor is good. Many reviewers have said it doesn't taste like haggis from Scotland. I don't know what they mean, because if you travel Scotland, there are as many varieties of haggis as there are beer! Try haggis from 10 different joints and you'll get 11 different versions. But I'm not even sure this is from Scotland. Nowhere on the can does it way "product of Scotland." I can't imagine its from anywhere else, but who know. And the bar code is marked over so that it can't be scanned. What's up with that? Are we dealing with rejected cans from the factory?

Who'd a thought canned could be this good!
I was a little hesitant, but I tried this haggis. I was surprised how good it was. Not like in Scotland, but the best I've had in the States.

This Haggis is truly delicious! (Even without the sheep lungs!)
Yeah, here in the US of A we can't get 100% 'real' haggis... the FDA objects to the sheep lungs that are traditional in haggis. It's annoying (imported german sausages have pig lungs ...!?) but honestly, I like this USA canned version just fine. Of the various haggis versions available here, I like this Stahly product the best. The texture, and esp. the seasonings, are sublime. Really, sublime ... no other seasoning required. Just fry it up in a medium-hot pan, stirring frequently, then make cheeseburgers. Your friends will devour them, just don't tell them it's haggis until they beg for the secret! Freedom! (If you haven't seen 'Braveheart,' watch it as you chow down on this excellent Scottish-American haggis.)
