Good Scanner! It cleared 2 codes that my handheld scanner wouldn't even find!

I have a cheap hand held scan tool that has always been good, it never failed to find codes in any of my cars.Except for this time, my handheld scanner failed to find ANY codes, even though the check engine light was ON.I recently had the fuel pump replaced on my 07 Escalade, and as soon as I ran the truck for 20 minutes, then check engine light came on. My handheld scanner found NO codes and also failed to clear the MIL.I decided to try the Foseal WIFI scanner instead, and was VERY happy that I did!Hooked up my Foseal WIFI ODBII scanner and using the"Car Scanner" Android App, it found P0332 (Bank 2 knock sensor undervoltage) and P1258 (engine coolant overtemp)Was able to clear them both using the app, but they must have been bogus codes, as the car was not hot at all, had only been running for a few minutes, and I doubt there is actually a knock sensor issue, that has never come up before.I'm just glad to get the MIL cleared, and get my truck back!I found the "Car Scanner" to be the best FREE app to use with this device.I tried the TorqueLite app, and it was ok, but not as good as Car Scanner was. Both apps found my codes, but the Car Scanner has a lot more options and data availablefor the free versions. I did not try any paid versions, too cheap for that! LOLThis was the best $20 I've ever spent on a car tool!

Works well.

You have to connect your wi/fi to the device to get it to work. Main problem is the apps Dont work in the background so if you use the phones gps you'll be missing some data.

Works!

Works. cheap and generated the same codes as my brothers wired one.Using the app called "car scanner" from the play store with it. First one I tried.Only thing I don't like is the app don't seem to store the codes to review later so I had to write them down but, that is the apps fault, and it may have that feature but I did not see it as I did not play with it very long.

Does not read trouble codes for 2011 Dodge Charger and ZERO support

Let me preface this review with 32 years of engineering experience, with a Masters degree in engineering, have taught college level engineering, and several years as a racing mechanic in my youth. Usually I am pleasantly surprised with something that works perfect, out of the box, especially if it is so well designed that do not even need the manual. Thus I am not too concerned when I need to read the manual or reach out for technical support on a device. How I rate a device depends a big part on both the usability AND the quality of support. In this case Foseal's support STINKS!!!!My 2011 Dodge Charger, R/T, AWD, Hemi had a known issue. One, or more of the speed sensors were not working and the trouble code had been confirmed on my dash as well as confirmed on a professional mechanic's scanner. I have been looking for a less costly scanner that I could use on my smartphone or tablet. Foseal SEEMED to be a good choice based on the reviews. I was doubtful based on the price point but willing to give a try.....The setup/install was NOT 100% plug and play but not too complex either. I did have to read the instructions though. I decided to use OBD Fusion and Car Scanner as the software interface on an iPhone 6 Plus. Once the device and my phone connected both apps displayed near real time "gauges" and such. I could see RPM, temps, speed, etc. Thus if that was all I wanted I would have been happy. But most of us would expect, that if there was something wrong with the vehicle, it would let us know what the trouble code(s) was(were) and in, hopefully, semi-plain English. Instead this device, on BOTH apps gave my car a clean bill of health. WAIT...WHAT? This is why I decided to test this on my car...BEFORE I repaired it. My first thought was I needed to make parameter changes in the software. After two hours of research and several changes...still ZERO trouble codes, in both OBD Fusion and Car Scanner. So I sent a polite request to Foseal's support email (could not find a number to call or chat) on 5/24/2019. I asked they help me determine why it gave me a "false positive" clean bill of health and assistance in trouble shooting it. I waited six days, checking both my inbox and Junk/span folders daily. ZERO RESPONSE. So I sent another email with the previous one included on 6/1/2019. In this email I gave them 48 hours to respond before I would give a negative review and request a refund. Today is 6/3/2019 and still no response. Thus I give them a failing grade on both their device for its main purpose AND their WORTHLESS support.

Works for some cars but not all modules

Using Alfaobd it will not connect to Climate Modules in Ram, Dodge, Chrysler, ect. It does the basic stuff. It WILL connect to Toyota and read the PID first trans temp.

No More Engine Warning Mystery

Here's an example of why everyone should have one of these diagnostic tools. I was visiting relatives for a holiday celebration whose home was about an hour from my house. When I was nearly there, the Check Engine light came on and stayed on for the rest of the trip. One family member does a lot of his own car repairs and I asked him what he thought triggered the warning. He said he had an OBD scan code reader and would probably be able to determine what triggered the warning. He was gone for only a few minutes and when he returned, he showed me a report on his smartphone that said,"Emission System Leak Detected" along with a code. A research of the code revealed the cause most certainly was the gas cap, which in all likelihood was a result of the cap not being replaced securely. A check of the cap confirmed this and on my return trip, the warning light had gone out. What a relief to be able to drive home with the assurance there was nothing major wrong with the engine. Needless to say, I asked the name of the OBD device he used so I could get one to keep in the car myself. He recommended this one and I, too, would recommend it to anyone who wants to take the guesswork out of the engine warning light.
