Q: At what temperature can these be washed in the washing machine please ?

I’ve washed items at 60 degrees and they’ve been fine - I think the main thing would be to avoid ironing them.

Q: Can you use these on knitted items

It depends on the knitted fabric. Very fine machine knitted fabric is not too bad, but care is needed when parting the fastener. I tried one on hand knitted pouch and the poppers became partially detached after 4 uses.
