Assembly Instructions Not Thorough

Great stool for my workshop. Comfortable. Rugged. Sturdy. Inexpensive. Looks nice.As for the assembly, how hard can it be? 9 nuts and bolts. That's it. (Actually, no, it's not!)When you put the legs together be sure to tighten them all BEFORE you attach the rotating bearing plate. The rotating plate actually covers the bolt at the top. I had to go back and remove the plate to tighten that bolt. When you put the rotating bearing plate on, be sure to turn the top plate enough to where you can slip the bolts into the bottom plate. Then tighten them to the legs. This next part is NOT in the instructions. At this point, all of the hardware has been used and you're left with the seat cushion in one hand and the assembled legs and base (rotating bearing plate) in the other. But NO MORE BOLTS!You must now unscrew the four screws from the bottom of the seat cushion and slip them through the holes in the top plate and screw them back into the seat cushion. In other words, attach the rotation bearing plate to the seat cushion using the four screws already in the seat cushion.IF the instructions were clearer this thing would be a cinch to assemble. 9 nuts and bolts and 4 screws. The product itself is great. However, I did spray some WD-40 into the rotating bearing plate just to make sure.Yes, I'd definitely buy this again.

I bought stool for workbench, perfect! Seat is NOT leather, but otherwise very good for the price.

Right away, as others have noted, the seat is not leather, says right on front of box "Commercial Grade Vinyl", padding is fine, it does give in, but is comfortable and rebounds after use.To the people complaining about assembly, I never even opened the instruction booklet, it was very intuitive to me how it was to go together. Here are some tips and steps I followed to make assembly as easy as possible (You will need a #3 Phillips head screwdriver and 10 mm box end or open end wrench) -1. If you have a workbench or other elevated surface, start assembly near it2. Remove all items from box, remove plastic covering from everything.3. Lean the legs against your workbench or surface, put seat upside down on bench, leave swivel mechanism on bench4. Unpack bolts, nuts and washers, sort them out in matching sets, 4 shorter bolts with washer and nuts, 4 longer bolts with washers and nuts, one countersunk head bolt with washer and nut5. The countersunk head bolt is what you will use to assemble the 2 leg pieces together. Put the leg set with flat spot in center under the other leg set at 90 degree angle. The top leg set should have a countersunk hole, put the countersunk head bolt in the hole, put washer and nut on other end and tighten, tighten fully as you will not be able to get to the head later.6. Now take the swivel assembly and rotate top so it resembles a 6 pointed star when looking at it from above, this will allow access to the bolts to assemble to both legs and seat7. Set the swivel assembly on top of the legs you just assembled (don't put leg ring on yet, wait!)8. Using the 4 shorter bolts, drop them through the slots on the swivel plate through the holes on the top of the leg assembly. After all 4 bolts are though, put the washers and nuts on other end, hand tighten9. Now, with the leg assembly standing up, drop the foot rest ring over the legs, pay attention to line up the holes in the ring with the legs. Push it into approximate position.10. Now lay the assembly down horizontally, position yourself at the bottom of the leg assembly, pull the ring into place to line up hole in ring with hole in leg by sight, now drop one of the longer bolts though both holes, make sure it goes through the foot rest and the leg. Do this for the remaining 3 holes in the foot rest.11. Now stand the stool back up, put washers and nuts on all 4 bolts, now tighten the bolts fully.12. Go back and fully tighten the bolts on the swivel assembly.13. With seat face down on bench, remove the 4 countersunk screw bolts from seat14. Set leg assembly on top of seat, line up holes in top part of swivel assembly with holes in seat, put one bolt in a time, hand tighten. Once all bolts are through swivel assembly, tighten fully. That is it, sounds like a lot, but it goes very quickly if you have proper #3 Phillips screw driver and 10 mm wrench.Took me no more than 20 minutes from opening box, unwrapping parts and full assembly.Hope this helps others.

A great bar stool at a great price!

I purchased this bar stool for my game room to use while playing videos and I saw many other brands for double the price and more and I’m very satisfied with this bar stool. The assembly was super easy with detailed instructions and took less than 15 minutes to assemble. The seat itself is NOT leather and made out of a thin cloth material that may not last long but time will tell. The bar stool is adjustable by spinning the seat around from the base and the seat itself is very comfortable im very pleased with this product and hope it will be durable after many uses!

Sturdy stool, annoying assembly

The stool is very sturdy once you get it together. The cushion is also very firm. The spin is not too loose so you won't find yourself spinning back and forth when you don't want to.The assembly was very annoying, however. It was difficult to line up the poorly machine screw holes, and with very unclear instructions, it was confusing to figure out how to put it together. Most of the screws that you need are packaged in a little baggie as you would expect, but there are a few on the bottom of the seat that you have to unscrew and then reattach, which is not mentioned in the instructions. Furthermore, these screws have recessed heads, when the metal plate that they attach to does not have holes that accommodate such screw heads, so when trying to figure it out, it really seems like those are the wrong screws and the wrong way to attach the seat (shown in picture). This is such a dumb thing to have been overlooked by the designers and would be incredibly simple for them to fix. If I had paid any more for this I would probably be returning it solely on that principal. I plan to go to the hardware store to replace these screws
