AMAZING - WOULD BUY AGAIN!

This was really easy to use on my Samson Q2U. This thing feels STURDY in my hands, it has a good weight to it that feels expensive. I can probably throw it at my wall and it would be in perfect condition. It mutes all the sounds from my typing, desk, my mouse, and my knee hitting my desk. I even tapped the shock mount really hard and my mic does not pick it up. It's really awesome. The only part that makes a noise now is if I tap my actual microphone.

Great shock mount for handheld mic for desktop use.

This unit does well isolating any 'tapping or banging' through the mic stand when I use a handheld mic on my desk. It works very well for this. I use a Sennheiser E835 and an AT2005 with this. Please note, I looked at others reviews and I think some people don't know how to open the clamp to insert the mic. I've included a few pics if you're concerned. There is no reason to gouge the finish of a mic to use this. Just squeeze the levers to open the holder, insert, mic, release levers and ............ you get the idea. It's simple and maybe requires a moderate grip to squeeze. If your current grip is such that you need someone to open new jars of mayo for you, it may be a chore. The harder you squeeze to open it further, the more the tension increases. The further you squeeze, the harder it becomes. You only need to squeeze it enough to slide your particular mic in.

Very difficult to get the mic in

This shock mount works quite well with the ATR 2100, except for installing and removing the microphone. As you can see in the attached picture, there is a separation between the four rolled sections of metal. Those are normally touching, and appear to be almost welded together. I had tried prying it open because the microphone simply would not go right in.The reason that this lost a star is because I had to literally push the microphone in until it forced that opening to show itself, after which it became significantly easier to move the microphone into place (it still holds the microphone perfectly). But prior to this, I had spent *hours* trying to get it into the shock mount, and I even thought I had bought the wrong size. So don't give up, or try to pry the back open first. But the way MY gear came, it was too difficult to use to get 5 stars.

Pretty good!

I made sure to read the reviews before buying this shock mount as it isn't too expensive although it's just expensive enough for me to make sure I was buying the right thing. When I first opened it I was sure that my boom arm didn't have a connector piece that was needed (the metal rod that connects the arm to the shock mount) but I realized that I could just unscrew the rod I had from my microphone connector I had used previously. After figuring all of that out everything else was a breeze, and this shock mount is amazing at reducing noises such as knocks or bumps. Of course, you can still hear the bump or knock for a second, but it sounds very faint and goes away almost instantly. The shock mount basically decreases the amount of time that the bump can be heard, and therefore is very worth the price. Without the shock mount, I could place my phone on my desk or creak my desk and the sound would resonate for multiple seconds, with the shock mount it's one audible bump and it's gone instantly. Very worth.

Works for my ATR-2100x

Easily fit my ATR-2100X. To install, simply press on the metal clips (similar to binder clips), slip the mic body in place and release the clips. The inside of the clamps have foam padding and the wire suspension greatly reduces vibrations from my desk. I have it mounted on a mic arm and used the copper adapter to properly thread into the mic arm. It has a nice black finish all throughout without any blemishes. Only issue is that it will sometimes come loose during movement/adjustment despite the knob being at its tightest position. It doesn't come loose when the mic is in a static position, so not a big deal.

Easy to install. Works as advertised.

I bought this shock mount for my Audio Technica ATR-2100. I used the 3/8" thread adapter to attach to my Rode PSA1. The combo works great. A simple test of bumping my table with my hand shows very little audio pickup on the mic. I should also mention that most of the other reviewers complained that it was hard to get their ATR-2100 into the holder. There are two clothespin like levers that causes the centroid mic holder to expand, allowing you to easily insert your mic into the shock mount. You squeeze the handles together, much like a clothespin. It's that simple.

Works for Samson Q2U

This takes away the horrible vibration noise that you’ll get on a dynamic mic when connected to a boom arm. It’s a little hard to open though when you want to remove the mic. If you bump into it, it may also fall out of position too so the tightness is not really where it needs to be.

Easy to use and install

After my old microphone starting giving me trouble, having fallen on the old stand, I decided to attach the replacement to an arm system on my desk. But I needed an isolation shock mount. This one was noted as suiting my new microphone. It screwed easily onto the end of the arm, and the scissors grip allowed easy placement of the microphone. Not only was it easy to assemble, I recently moved my office for the summer. Disassembly was simple, the various pieces went into the suitcase with clothes for protection, and 4,000 air and road miles later, it's all up and running again without any drama.
