Merrell Women's Moab 3 Mid GTX Hiking Boots

Other reviewers suggested buying one size larger than normal, which I did, and the boots fit great! My challenge was finding a affordable boots that are also sturdy. These boots are both. Understand that I am a recreational hiker, not hard-core, so please interpret this review accordingly. The Merrell MOAB is lightweight and comfortable. It was helpful to wear the boots for a few days to break them in a bit before wearing them outdoors. I wore them for a weekend survival class in Eastern Kentucky at the end of October 2024, and again for a full day (3.5 to 4 miles) of hiking in Kentucky's rugged and beautiful Red River Gorge in November 2024. The boots provided excellent foot support; the lugs managed the rugged terrain without slipping. Although tired after hiking, my feet were not sore nor blistered. I wore wool hiking socks with the boots; boots were breathable, not sweaty. So far, no hikes have taken me through puddles or creeks, so I cannot assess water resistance. Highly recommend these boots.

they are very comfortable

If you overpronate and need arch support, these are the boots for you. I still need special insoles, but the construction of these shoes provides amazing support. They fit great out of the box and are supportive and comfortable.

These are really nice hiking boots. They offer nice ankle support and are very comfortable. You can walk comfortably for hours in these boots. I highly recommend.

These are comfortable from day 1.

i’ve had so many pairs of Merrell shoes that were comfortable and lasted for years. These were like walking on concrete in bare feet. It was like there was no cushioning at all. Promptly returned.

I sized up by half size as recommended by other reviewers and they fit well.
